many left in large groups but it was not uncommon for a few stragglers to join together. one of these groups of stragglers were the last to leave. they didn't leave by choice, in fact there was no choice at all what so ever. there was a fire, a massive fire that broke out and burned everything in sight. the town was left in ruins and the stragglers fled across the tracks. they went on for miles until they reached a house surrounded by empty train cars that had obviously been raided by others before them. they stayed at the house for several days but they were forced to leave the house, just like with the village, when a fire broke out. they began again, down the tracks, with the smoke rising behind them.
